President

As a business professional, Lyle has worked as a group manager for computer companies Burroughs/UNISYS Corp and Enserv. He was the general manager for Unilock Corp. overseeing the manufacturing and sale of paving stones and retaining walls at their Aurora, Illinois location, and managed several new plants in New York, Massachusetts, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. He is currently retired but has driven a school bus for the last ten years.

Lyle hosted a home bible study for over nine years. At Mission Bible Church, he has held the office of deacon for the last 10 years, financial secretary, and a member of its investment committee for eight years. He has worked as a director and managed a food pantry in conjunction with Northern Illinois Food Bank for 16 years serving Grundy County.

In December 2021, Lyle joined the Venture Missions board as the president. With the growth in Grundy County and knowing the needs of many through running the food pantry, Lyle wants to invest his time into helping those who are in need. This includes our youth as well as their families and our senior citizens

Vice President

David Jankowski has served in church ministry for 55 years. For the last 25 years he has served at Mission Bible Church as Lead Pastor and Pastor Emeritus. His service has included many mission trips to about nine different countries. In addition, he served as the Human Resources Director of WorldTeam mission for several years in Miami, FL. Dave's roles at MBC currently include teaching two groups of people, and he serves the missions team, both as a volunteer.

Treasurer

Thomas is just getting his feet wet in the professional world, but is no stranger to volunteering and giving back. From Braidwood, he grew up heavily involved in multiple community organizations, both in the church and outside, constantly lending a hand wherever needed.

In 2020, Thomas was exposed to Mission Bible Church and began attending regularly shortly after that, embracing the core values that Mission promotes and becoming heavily involved.

Recently graduating from the University of St. Francis with a degree in Accounting and Finance, Thomas developed a greater servant leadership mentality that was shown through his involvement on multiple boards and organizations in the Will and Grundy county area. Currently working as a Financial Accountant at Sikich, LLP, Thomas is able to blend his financial mindset with developed skills of networking and Christian Servant Leadership. Thomas looks forward to the opportunities that can be created through Venture Missions for the surrounding communities.

Secretary

Karen has worked in the public sector for over two decades as a planning and zoning professional for a number of small communities in the Will, Kendall, and Grundy County area. During her time as a Planner, she has taken part in a wide variety of community projects from funding and constructing Veterans Memorials and parks to attracting businesses to hosting parks and recreation events to establishing long-range community plans.

For the 9 years her children were in elementary school, Karen was PTO committee chair for the school’s recycling activities, parent-lead fine arts program, and the annual Polar Express movie event. Karen has been an active member of the Mission Bible Church Endeavor Team since 2018. Her work with the Endeavor Team offered an opportunity for Karen to give back to the community beyond her previous efforts in the school by serving the broader community through planning and implementing local missions work at MBC.

Board Member

Dan resides in Shorewood with his wife, Jeanette. They have three children, Kelsey, Megan and Josh and one grandchild, Easton. He has lived in Shorewood for the past 25 years and has attended Mission Bible Church for 12 years.

Over the years Dan has held various positions with non-for-profit boards while volunteering in the community. Including his role on the Venture Missions Board, he currently has board responsibilities for the Greater Joliet YMCA, Rialto Foundation and Silver Cross Hospital Foundation. Previously he served on boards for the University of St Francis, Presence/Amita St. Joseph Hospital, The Will Grundy Medical Clinic and The Joliet City Center Partnership. His wife, Jeanette, is a member for ChilderGuild, associated with Silver Cross Hospital, as well as serving for Mission Bible Church.

Dan is Senior Vice President of Commercial and Community Banking for Midland States Bank. He began his career in the investment field and credentials include the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He has over 35 years of banking and investment experience.
